ONWARD is a collaborative tool for all conversion team members
The main features of ONWARD are:
Record layouts/structures
- Interpret COBOL and SQL Server record structures.
- Enter metadata, such as field descriptions, date types, codes, etc.
- Enter allowed values, enabling identification of data values permitted / not permitted.
- Enter data rules for character, numeric, and date fields.
- Create masking rules for sensitive data, such as Social Security Numbers.
Uploading your data
- Upload to ONWARD database, both from flat files and SQL Server import.
- Profile your data. Online editing of analysis results, including Drill-Down capability.
- Online viewing of data (from flat files and SQL Server). No SQL knowledge required.
Source-to-target mapping
- Mapping versioning.
- Mapping export to Excel.
Tasks & Issues Manager (TIM)
- Issues/defects/tasks tracking and reporting. Text and/or image type files may be attached to TIMs.
Attachments Manager
- Browse text and image files that are attached to TIMs.
Custom queries
- SQL queries may be developed. If useful to the project, these may be uploaded to ONWARD. Any
team member can run these and results are sent to Excel.
